Anyone, anywhere in the world, who thinks they have the right moves to become a Thriller Live dancer will be able to record an audition to a backing track and upload to the relaunched Facebook page www.facebook.com/ thrillerlive from Thursday October 13.

Fans will then get the chance to vote for their favourite dancers and the Top 15 with the most votes will get the chance to audition live in front of the Thriller Live creative team, including its award-winning Director & Choreographer, Gary Lloyd.

Gary said: “We are always getting requests from around the world to be part of this amazing show and play a part in keeping Michael Jackson’s legend alive. By harnessing the power of Facebook we will create a truly open and global audition process to find superstar dancers for this show.”

Adrian Grant, Executive Director of Thriller Live who had the original concept for the production, said: “Thriller Live is a show that evolved from the Annual Michael Jackson Celebration, which was for Michael’s fans and that he actively supported. So it is great that we can now open up our auditions to include not only professional dancers but also giving a chance to Michael’s global fanbase and those inspired by his music and videos.”

Producer Paul Walden said: “Michael was always pushing the boundaries and looking for new and innovative ways to connect with his audience and fans, so it’s fitting that we launch this unique initiative on Facebook the world’s most popular social media site. We are sure that it will help us to discover some great new talent.”

Thriller Live is looking for versatile dancers with strong technical ability, individual style and stand-out personality. They must be funky with strong hip hop skills. Break-dance, acro and/or Popping/locking an advantage. They will need to be able to play age 18 – 25. Dancers will be considered for both the West End production and the ongoing worldwide tour in 2012.

The cast were full of energy for this special performance and Blues version of Man in the Mirror wowed the audience as did Shaheens version of Music and Me.

To add to the fund raising, Flying Music’s Head of Business Affairs, Matthew Toms’ marathon attempt in aid of Voice, a leading national charity specialising in providing advocacy to children and young people in public care and those in need while also campaigning for lasting improvements to the lives of those in care, raised an additional£1,000.97

The announcement came just a day after Tito, Marlon and Jackie Jackson – three original members of the Jackson 5 – flew into London, where the first thing they did was see the hit celebration of their music, and the late King of Pop – Michael Jackson.

The brothers loved the show, and enthused backstage on how much they had loved the singing, the choreography and the band.

Following Michael’s passing, Director & Choreographer Gary Lloyd, and Producer Adrian Grant, felt it was time to make some slight changes to the production which first played in 2006, by adding ‘Gone Too Soon’ as a moving tribute at the start of the show. In act two fans can expect a powerful rendition of ‘They Don’t Care About Us’, a song which was very close to Michael’s heart and all that he stood for.

Thriller Live will be taken across the Great British Isles in an effort to bring the music and energy of the man the world misses so much, but will continue to celebrate – Michael Jackson, The King of Pop!



Thriller Live was created to celebrate the career of the world’s greatest entertainer and undisputed King of Pop and the Jackson 5, and his phenomenal, unparallelled career was the show’s inspiration.

After much deliberation and taking into consideration the views of Michael’s legion of fans, we can think of no greater tribute to the memory of the man and his incredible music than for this weekend’s performances at the Lyric theatre in the West End and Manchester Opera House go ahead as planned.

All of the Thriller Live cast, crew and production team send out their love to Michael’s family and children.

Thriller Live was conceived and created by Executive Director Adrian Grant, a long time associate of Michael Jackson, and author of Michael Jackson – The Visual Documentary.

He said: ‘Words cannot express my deep sense of loss and sadness; I am shocked beyond belief that Michael has died. My full condolences go out to his family – his children, parents, brothers and sisters. The Jackson family have lost a son and a father, and the world has lost one of the greatest entertainers of all time, a true legend.

Michael Jackson has been a massive influence in my life – inspiring me to get into the entertainment industry and to produce the best work that I can. I have supported Michael for the past 21 years through my magazines, books and now Thriller Live, and I will continue to support and promote his legacy via this musical celebration.

But my main focus right now is very much on Michael Jackson the person. He was warm, genuine, funny and smart, as well as the musical genius we all admired.

I have lost a friend, and I will be there for his family, friends and fans. Rest in peace Michael, I love you.’

Meanwhile at the same time, another Thriller Live company has embarked on a tour of the UK and Europe and are scheduled to make 25 different stops. This tour began on the 13th February in Northampton and will end on the 11th July in Birmingham.

Tito Jackson signed autographs outside the Lyric Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue, before meeting the cast and theatre staff.

“I am delighted to attend the opening of the show and excited to see it after watching it grow out of the UK and European tours in 2007. Our music is very much alive and still relevant to the youth of today and it remains part of the fabric of modern day life. This show, with its talented cast, acknowledges and celebrates our music and the sort of entertainment that the Jackson family have created over the last 40 years. It is particularly fitting that the show is opening in the West End as Motown celebrates their 50th anniversary – Motown is where we all started and without Motown there may never have been a Jackson 5!”, he said.

Other celebrities at the premiere included Dancing On Ice star Jessica Taylor, actor Nicholas Hoult, glamour model Lucy Pinder, and singer Lulu.

To coincide with the thrilling news that Thriller Live arrives at London’s West End in January 2009, Flying Music and Key Concerts have launched a hunt for an undiscovered talent to make his star debut playing the young Michael Jackson.

We are looking for confident and energetic black 11-to-15-year-old boys with unbroken pop voices for open auditions at the Lyric on 23 November.

Those wishing to audition should register on the day from 10.30am with a passport photo and details of performing experience – and be ready to sing either Ben, I Want You Back or I’ll Be There.

The King of Pop, Michael Joseph Jackson, celebrates his 50th birthday on the 29th August 2008! Everyone involved with the ‘Thriller Live’ production would like to send their love, respect and best wishes to Michael. It is thanks to his creativity that our show is possible, and we are proud that we have been able to entertain 1000s of fans across the UK and Europe, in his name, with music and dance that has inspired and thrilled the world.

Our show reaches fans both young and old, and of all colours, and the reaction it receives is a tribute to the genius, that is Michael Jackson.
