Trenyce Cobbins
At the age of two, Trenyce found passion in performing and singing. By the age of 14, she was writing, producing and recording her own original music in her home State of Memphis, Tennessee. With her Mother as Manager, she set out on a quest to develop her talents as a triple threat while also making a name for herself locally.
At the age of 17, she was told “I will see you amongst the Stars” by Broadway Superstar, Jennifer Holliday, after winning the NAACP Act-So Music Contemporary Award. In 2002, Trenyce found herself amongst the Top-5 Finalists during Season 2 of the hit Fox Series “American Idol”, sharing her gift with upwards of 30 million viewers a night.
Soon thereafter she began forging her way closer to her dream of becoming a world renowned recording artist. With the blessings of Paula, Randy, Simon and her new global fan base, she succeeded time and time again and achieved many firsts. As the first American Idol to headline two of her own headliner shows in Las Vegas, Trenyce has since expanded her stage work to theater, including musicals such as the 30th Anniversary Tour of “Ain’t Misbehavin” (which landed her a Grammy nomination), “Love in the Nick of Tyme”, “Dreamgirls” “The Vagina Monologues” and the “Dancing with the Stars” Tour entitled “Ballroom with a Twist”, alongside countless name TV and Film personalities.
Trenyce has currently found herself cast as the Lead Vocalist in the hit Michael Jackson West End Tribute Show: Thriller Live” in London, England.
Over the course of the next few years, she plans to expand her brand and live performance sets for an international crowd. And as a long-term goal; Trenyce plans to develop her own line of cosmetics, clothing, fragrances, children’s toys. As a philanthropist, she has begun the ground work formulating what will be her first Charitable Foundation; The Better To Be Nyce Foundation which will benefit The Arts across America.
