The former lead singer of boy band ‘Ultimate Kaos’ fronted the five piece group from the tender age of 9. He was discovered and given his first record contract by Simon Cowell at BMG records in 1992.

As a forerunner to ‘Pop Idol’ or ‘X-Factor’, for the first time Simon had held open auditions for vocalists, and a panel of Simon, a Manager and a Producer ‘judged‘ them. Simon’s concept was to create a new ‘Jackson 5’, but he had to find the right lead singer, and discovered this in Haydon.

As a child star Haydon was hailed in the press as a new Michael Jackson. The front cover of the influential ‘Tip Sheet’ hailed Haydon as ’the most talented male vocalist in the UK’.

The first UK Top 10 Hit came in 1994 with the song ‘Some Girls’, and during this year his band were the opening act for the massive ‘Take That’ tour, (Haydon passed his time backstage playing football with Robbie Williams!) and ‘Some Girls’ was followed by other UK hits such as ‘Hoochie Booty’, ‘Show A Little Love’, and ‘Right Here’.

When he was 12, Haydon made a special appearance on the ‘Barrymore’ TV show, singing and dancing with Michael. This got such a tremendous response that Haydon returned to the TV show to guest again and Michael arranged for Haydon to appear with him in his Blackpool theatre show.

Ultimate Kaos then signed a worldwide record deal with Polygram and had major success in Europe, the Far East and Australia.

Haydon and the band then had the honour of supporting Janet Jackson when she performed in London. They were specifically chosen by Janet after she had watched a video of the group. Before splitting in 2000, Ultimate Kaos also supported ‘Boyzone’ in their last major UK tour.

In 2003 Haydon took part in the ITV1 show ’Reborn In The USA’, hosted by Davina McCall and broadcast primetime every Saturday night.

In the TV show a tour bus full of famous British singers travelled across America performing at various venues in front of US audiences. Every week there was a UK public vote to eliminate a contestant, and Haydon made it all the way through to perform in New York on the final week.
